The Ensemble Theatre endeavours to entertain as well as challenge audiences by producing a stimulating mix of plays from Australia and around the world. During its 45 years of continuous operation as a not for profit distributing company, the Ensemble Theatre has established a unique reputation based on the emphasis on relevance and balance in play selection, the truth of its acting and the intimacy of design. Located within the Theatre, Bayly’s Restaurant is named in honour of actor Lorraine Bayly, to mark her retirement from the stage in June 2003, and in recognition of her contribution to the founding of and ongoing commitment to the Ensemble Theatre. Being right on the water at Kirribilli the setting is picturesque and relaxing.
